Die Casting Made of Zinc

Zinc die cast parts are mostly small metal parts, which require heavy precision, such as gears, sprockets, and connector housings. Made using a hot chamber machine, these parts may be small, but they are well-defined and accurate for whatever use they are intended for.

Because zinc has a low temperature and high fluidity, it is easier to use in die casting rather than aluminum or copper. On the other hand, aluminum is the more desired material when it comes to producing automotive engine metal parts, while copper alloys are used for plumbing and electrical metal parts since it provides the most resistance to corrosion. It is simply a matter of deciding what metal parts you intend to produce.

While zinc die cast parts can go up until to thirty-five kilograms, this is not recommended. Since large castings are riddled with problems in porosity and may be difficult to solidify in a hot chamber machine, zinc is normally used for tiny parts.

If you wish to make larger things with zinc, it is recommended that you use zinc alloys instead, since they can make stronger and larger metal parts, though you may have to use a cold chamber machine if your alloy is more aluminum than zinc. So think over carefully what you want to produce before die casting.
